Strong proportionate head with correct ears and eyes to give a calm look and expression. I would like a better mouth to be picky. Well developed in forehand and complimented in quarters allowing a positive drive at all times. BD & RBOB’

2nd Open, Paula Meacham ‘ Dog. Tricolour. Well build dog with muscle, but back is a little loose, ear need to be tighter, good head and eye. Moves better when he is left to run.’

1st OD, Sophie Wray, ‘2 year old tri dog. Another male of good size and masculine. Nice outline, with a good shoulder and length of back, with a good length of tail. Liked his head, a clean, flat skull with well set eyes and good stop. Would have preferred slightly tighter ears. Moved and showed well. Reserve Best Dog.’

Burton on Trent Open Show, December
1st PGD/B, Abby Lusty, ‘Tricky 2yr old Tricolour dog. Up to size and masculine. Balanced head, dark eye, excels in front angulation and excellent ribbing. He lets himself down with his unwillingness to use his ears, being rather fond of his tail and quite uncooperative with his handler. However he is a good dog but doesn’t make the best of himself.’

2nd PGD, Mrs J Gregory, ‘ Two and a half yr old tricoloured dog. Well bodied and nice depth of chest. Well muscled and good angulation fore and aft, unsettled on the move.’

Correct size, in excellent condition, head in proportion to the body, correct head proportions, slight but perceptible stop, black nose, correct colour of the eyes, semi – erect ears, scissor bite, good length of neck, tail reaching at the hock, chest deep, well sprung ribs, angulations in fore- and hindquarters in balance, strong bone, feet oval, smooth movement, coat: hair of correct texture and colour.’

1st AVNSC PGD, RBD, Dave Killilea, ‘2 year old black/white Smooth Collie, correct in size and stands on a good front with a nice head piece.  Good neck and shoulders and holds his topline well on the move.  Correct in tail-set and carriage and moves out soundly with purpose. Reserve Best Dog.’

1st AVNSC PGD, RBOB, Bridgette Bodle, ‘2 yr Smooth Collie what an absolute character this boy was, just so full of , handsome head with a lovely oblique eye, straight forelegs and lovely feet, well sprung ribs and deep through the chest and body, such an easy and smooth mover once he settled, loved his character which he displayed to the full!’

1st PGD, Peter Bailey ‘a nice tri colour with a sound well balanced make and shape his coat condition was first class jet black with nice tan and white markings best of head types eye in particular good he moved well, liked him a lot.’

3rd SpYD, Mr G Gray ‘ 20 months Tri, a shade deeper in stop but well-proportioned headpiece, ear carried well, strong neck into well laid shoulder, steep in upper arm not affording him the desired front reach on the move, stood on ample bone. Good depth of brisket, strong backline into well moulded croup and strong hindquarters. He was sound both ways with a steady side gait. ‘
